|Set Up A Fund Raising Cruise|
Suzanne and her CruiseOne agency have helped numerous charitable organization raise funds by helping them organize and coordinate fund raising cruises.
Many cruise lines offer fund raising programs through which 501(c)(3) organizations can receive a donation from the cruise line. Depending on the length of cruise and the cruise line, charities can earn $40 to $100 per cabin or more to be donated to their charity.
Suzanne helps guide them through the process, helping them to find the best ship and sail date that works for their fund-raising goals and target audience. Suzanne the handles all the startup logistics including negotiating group rates and the donation amount with the cruise line, publicity flyers, creation of the information and registration web site, booking all the guests and providing essential guests information.
The organization is tasked with getting the word out to their members and supporters and referring them to Suzanne for the bookings. Suzanne also publicizes her fundraising cruises to her client database and at trade show type events like street fairs and festivals.
The organization doesn’t need to collect any funds from the guests as all deposits and payments for the cruise fare is made directly to the cruise line through the travel agent portal. When the cruise is over, in most cases, the donation check is made out directly to the charity from the cruise line and sent out just a few weeks after the cruise.
Suzanne has worked with several national and local charities including the following:
The Daughters of the British Empire – a national club for women of British descent or descended from any country that was ever part of the British Empire whose primary purpose is supporting four Senior Living facilities through-out the country. Suzanne has so far worked with them to raise nearly $10,000 for the organization through both Carnival and Princess cruises. Our next DBE Fundraising cruise visits the British Isle with the option to see the famous Military Tattoo performance in Edinburgh
Big Paws Canine Foundation – an organization that provides service dogs and training for them to veterans and first responders with physical disabilities and PTSD. Her local contact at the group shared with her “This was the easiest fundraiser I have ever done. All we had to do was go on a cruise and have a good time with our friends and family and we earned $500 for the organization. “
Laurie White Foundation – a Local Simi Valley/Moorpark charity that provides scholarships to second year students enrolled in the Moorpark College Exotic Animal training program and supports animal rescue and rehabilitation efforts.
Kiwanis Club of Simi Valley – Suzanne is currently coordinating a cruise in the fall of 2019 with Celebrity Cruises that will provide a $100 donation per cabin to the Kiwanis Club of Simi Valley earmarked for the Kiwanis International Project EliMiNaTe – an international effort to eradicate maternal and neo-natal tetanus in developing countries and worldwide. See our Kiwanis EliMiNaTe Web Page for more information.
