Why the two 14-night cruises are separate: They are not simply two dates for the same itinerary. The June departure adds Nootka Sound, Icy Strait Point and Misty Fjords, while the August departure includes an overnight in Anchorage plus Valdez and Ketchikan.

We Have Been Cruising Alaska Since 1993

Our own Alaska cruise history began with Holland America in 1993 and now spans several cruise lines and very different styles of Alaska itinerary.

In 2025 we sailed a 28-day Holland America Arctic Circle voyage, giving us firsthand perspective on just how different extended Alaska can be from the traditional seven-night Inside Passage cruise.

That experience is why we focus on the route first: glacier access, embarkation city, port timing, cruise length and whether interior Alaska should be part of the trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I sail from Seattle or Vancouver?

Seattle is often the easiest option for U.S. travelers and works especially well when simple roundtrip air is a priority. Vancouver can provide more traditional Inside Passage routing. Neither is automatically better; the itinerary and glacier experience should be part of the decision.

Do all of these cruises visit Glacier Bay?

No. Our 2028 Westerdam and Koningsdam seven-night group departures shown above include Glacier Bay. Other itineraries may feature Hubbard Glacier, Dawes Glacier or other scenic cruising instead. We recommend comparing the glacier experience rather than assuming every Alaska cruise is the same.

What does group pricing mean?

We have contracted group pricing on the specific sailings shown above. Our group rates include a refundable deposit. The categories listed online are the ones currently displayed within our group, but they do not necessarily represent every stateroom category we can book.

What if I want a cabin category that is not shown?

Contact us. If Holland America has that stateroom category available for group bookings, we can often exchange group space into the category you want and quote the applicable group rate. You are not necessarily limited to the specific categories shown on the group-registration page.

Can I add Have It All to the group rate?

Yes. Have It All can be added to our group pricing for $65 per person per day. Our 2027 groups use the standard Have It All benefits. The current 2028 Early Booking Bonus upgrades the package with the Elite Beverage Package, Premium Wi-Fi and prepaid Crew Appreciation while that early-booking offer remains available.

Can you book an Alaska CruiseTour even if you do not have group space?

Absolutely. Our CruiseTour planning is not limited to group departures. We can compare Holland America's available land-and-sea programs, time at Denali, rail routing, Yukon options and overall pace to find the itinerary that makes the most sense for you.

Are 2028 Holland America CruiseTours available yet?

Not yet. Holland America has released its 2028 Alaska cruises and has announced that Oosterdam will be the primary 2028 CruiseTour ship, but the detailed 2028 CruiseTour program and booking availability are still to come. We can let you know when those itineraries open.
